BRIEF - Darrell Schwarz

Function of the Area

The area will have two functions one by day and one by night.

Day Function/Evening Function: The day function will be a restaurant, where people will wine and dine looking over the views of Brisbane city. It will have an option to cater during the day as a comedy/entertainment venue.

Night Function: Because it is located in the heart Brisbane's main clubbing district, opportunity arises to convert the restaurant into a clubbing destination. Transforming this into a club will not only increase revenue but will become the ultimate clubbers paradise.

Spatial Characters of the Area

The design will take characteristics of the special forms surrounding site; it will grasp adjacent elements and use them to compliment the design. The design will interrelate modern architecture design form with 20th centaury architecture. The spatial form will enhance certain viewpoints, and use the city’s backdrop to an advantage.

The experience will be enhanced through the user interaction, a journey through the spaces will provide an educational event. Laser projected onto clear glass will allow the user experience the outside panoramic views whilst a light show can be seen from the interior. This space will be perched high above.

The performance stage shall be only two steps high, this will allow for easy interaction between the performer and the
